Summary:
This article is brings up "State Terrorism." The fact that from activities of many governments a state itself could be a terrorist. I find this to be very true. Violence upon a national population commited by national governements against civilian individuals and populations, as a means of political intimidation and control has become very popular in China. A state can terrorize its people by suppressing and controlling the information that is filtered to the public.
5) Next in Google Scholar i searched, Chinese government internet web filtering. Listed was an essay called" Internet Filtering in China"
The paper was written by Bambauer, Derek, Deibert, Ronald J., John G., Rohozinski, Rafal, Villeneuve, Nart and Zittrain, Jonathon
Last revised on April 20, 2005
Summary:Chinese citizens seeking access to web sites containing content related to Taiwanese and Tibetan independence, the Dalai Llama, opposition polictical parties,or a variety of anti-communist movements will frequently find themselves blocked.
6) Lastly in searching for scholarly journals i decided to go to Santa Barbara Public Library online. I clicked on Infotrac to browse through articles and typed in China controls citizens internet content. I found an article labeled Google under fire over censorship policy.
The author is Will Cooper
Date posted: November 5, 2007
Summary: Google's censorship came under question when a proposal was put forth to stop its ban of search results in repressive countries. Google and Yahoo have been filtering results seen as sensitive by the Chinese government since January 2006. There have even been instances when IP addresses were given of the people who were searching for particular "sensitive" material.
7) To search for newspaper articles i again went to the Santa Barbara Library's website. On the home page their was a link to search newspaper articles, after typing in my library card number, I was taken to General Reference Center Gold. I typed in Chinese oppressive internet blocking. The first document i chose was from the New York Times. Its title is "Indignant Chinese Urge Anti-West Boycott over Pro-Tibet Stance"
Written by Andrew Jacobs and Jimmy Wang
April 20, 2008
Summary: During the tumultuous olympic torch relay students had been channeling anger over anti-China protests. Public anger has also been directed at western news outlets which are blamed for one-sided coverage of the torch relay and also for anti chinese bias on their news of disturbances in Tibet.
8) The second news article i chose i did the same steps as in number 7 with the additional help of proquest.com. The article i read was from the Los Angeles Times called "Web circulated image is purported to show that China staged the Tibet riots"
Written by Mark Magnier
on April 30, 2008
Summary:
A photo that seems to show Chinese paramilitary forces carrying monks' robes provides conclusive evidence that the Chinese staged Tibet riots to justify a government crackdown.
9) Next I searched google for newspaper links, i was directed to newslink.com which has thousands of online newspaper articles. I then typed in Tibet and communist issues censored in China. A current article that came up was from the China Post titled "China lacks moral authority: Dalai Lama."
Written by Malcolm Moore

Summary: China deserves to be a superpower in most aspects however a major drawback is its lack of moral authority. There is too much censorship on religious freedom, freedom of expression and freedom of the press.
10) At the Santa Barbara Public Library I found a book after searching on the library's General Reference Gold online for China rights censorship Tibet. The book was titled "A Simple Monk: Writings on his holiness the Dalai Llama"

11) Through the SB Pulic Library's Black Gold Cooperative Library System i was able to find "Living with China: U.S/ China relations in the twenty first century.
Written by Ezra F. Vogel
Published in 1997
Summary: The revolutionaries who created the Chinese Communist party and founded the People's Republic of China had as one of their central objectives the reunification of China. The book also touches on the American perceptions of the Chinese government's intervention in Tibet.
12) For the third book i went to Amazon by typing it directly into the web browser.
There i found "History as Propoganda"
Written by John Powers
October 14, 2004
Summary: Modern Chinese and Tibetan sources generally assume that their public accept a particular conclusion, such as Tibet being an independent country prior to the Chinese military invasion. They tend to omit events that could potentially undermine the integrity of their respective historical views.
13) To find a video source i went to current.com. On this website Current TV has some great very reliable videos. The one i watched was called "IOC admits Internet censorship deal with China."
